I offer the creation of new meadows, orchards and management of existing orchards for wildlife and productivity.
Orchard meadows are a significant part of our natural heritage in the United Kingdom. They once were a frequent feature in our landscapes. Trees were grown for their fruit and management of the meadows allowed grazing of livestock and hay to be harvested. They provided vital habitat and feed to many of our native wildlife. Sadly, over the last 60 years we have lost 90% of our traditional orchards and 97% of our wildflower meadows. Now it is essential that we establish this lost heritage where possible. Meadows and fruit trees do not have to be restricted to large landscapes. They can be grown in our home gardens, schools and public landscapes. Providing a beautiful, low maintenance and productive space that thrives with wildlife.
